Summary:
A Warehouse Driver is responsible for the transportation of construction equipment and materials to and from all job sites (sometimes in excess of 100 miles from the shop).
Job Duties:
perform pre-trip inspections (correctly complete driver's log book) and overall monthly inspections of his/her vehicle
maneuver and control the vehicle in a safe fashion, which includes handling the vehicle on-site and in over-the-road situations
proper signaling, searching for hazards, controlling speed, lane positioning, matching speeds to road conditions
the ability to drive safely in weather conditions that include wet, dry, snow and ice
the ability to drive safely during the day or night
safely load and unload all equipment/materials over all terrains, and properly secure all loads
travel (sometimes in excess of 100 miles from shop) to job sites and work outdoors
when not driving, will be directed by Warehouse Manager on tasks to be completed around shop and yard
perform all of the above job functions in a safe manner in order to avoid personal injury and equipment damage
Required Skills
Job Requirements:
demonstrate the ability to load/unload, secure load, and obey highway traffic regulations.
must deliver/pick-up equipment, materials and other supplies in a timely fastion
must be able to occasionally lift and carry 100 lbs
must be able to climb, bend, stoop, kneel, lift overhead, and work at heights.
walk/work in rough terrain in order to access equipment, tools, materials, and job site in order to complete work
must be able to work the hours necessary in order to achieve the goals of the company
must be willing to travel to any and all job sites without exception (including staying away from home if necessary)
must comply with all company safety and personnel policies
Required Experience
1-2 experience in driving stake bed trucks, bob tails, hauling trailers, operating forklifts, and loading/unloading job materials
